Dams and power plants built by Cengiz Holding amount to an annual production of 11,388 GWh, a storage capacity of 64.238.183 cubic meters and water tunnels, waten canals with a total length of 165,110 m… Shamkirchay Dam is the largest dam constructed by a Turkish company abroad. Shamkirchay is the highest dam in Azerbaijan and one of only a few clay-core rock-fill dams at this height in the world. Ilısu Dam is Turkey’s second largest dam by volume. Kalehan Enerji, a Cengiz Holding subsidiary, will also build 5 hydroelectric power plants on the Murat River with a total capacity of 2073 MW and total investment will reach USD 2.5 billion. The first phase of the project and also the first leg of Turkey’s biggest private sector hydroelectric power plant, Beyhan 1, was completed in the record time of 48 months.

The Yusufeli Dam and HEPP project will be constructed across the Çoruh River 70 km to the south-west of Artvin in the Eastern Black Sea Region. The Yusufeli Dam and HEPP, which will be constructed across the Çoruh Basin and the largest dam in Turkey, will be the 3rd highest dam in the world as the double curve concrete arch dam. Its height will be 220 m above thalweg and 270 m above foundation and its total reservoir volume will be around 2,2 billion m3. Approximately 2.9 million m3 of concrete will be used for dam body. The power plant with an installed capacity of 540 MW will generate 1,817 billion kWh hydroelectric power per year. Also, the electric energy demand of a population of 750 thousand people will be met.

The Ilısu Dam and HEPP which is constructed across the Tigris River in the South-east Anatolia Region of Turkey is a clay core rock fill dam for power generation. The project includes totally 44 million m3 of fill, 3 diversion tunnels with a diameter of 12 m and length of 1 km, 3 power tunnels with a diameter of 11 m. When completed, the project will generate 3.833 GWh power per year in average with an installed capacity of 1.200 MW.

The main purpose of the Shemkirchay Dam and HEPP Construction is to carry out 260 million m3 irrigation per year in average using the Shemkir River in the irrigation period and build a plant with an installed capacity of 36 MW with the aid of the height of reservoir and flow rate and generate 56,3 GWh power per year. Each one of the six power generation unit has a capacity of 4.602 kW. The height of the dam, which is a clay core gravel filled dam, is 148 m. The following will be carried out under the project: 3,3 million m3 of excavation; 3,1 million m3 of clay core; 16,7 million m3 of gravel fill; 21,3 million m3 of earth fill; and 85.650 m3 of concrete production.

Atasu Dam supplies drinking water to a population of 1,5 million people in Trabzon Province and its vicinity. The following were completed under the Atasu Dam Project: 3,5 million m3 of rock fill; 2.700 m of power tunnel; 565 m of diversion tunnel; 9.720 m of water transmission tunnels, bottom outlet tunnels, spillway, shaft, service roads; and 310.000 m3 of concrete.
